Join Coach Doug Gle at TC Central High School this summer for one of the following Strength and Conditioning Camp Options!

Program Director: Doug Gle. Doug is currently working as a teacher and football coach at Traverse City Central High School. 

Additional Coaches include: Mike Gle, Tim Odette, Stephen Draper, Sara Parker and John Girton

He is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a USA Weightlifting Club Coach with a Masters Degree in Exercise Science. He currently serves as the Director for the National High School Strength and Conditioning Association. 

His experience includes working as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Eastern Michigan University, Western Michigan University and at the University of Northern Iowa. He has 25 years experience working with athletes of all ages.

Facilities and Equipment: The camp will be located in the Traverse City Central High School's 5600 square foot State of the Art Strength and Conditioning Facilities.

DUE TO COVID-19:

ALL CAMPS ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE PER MDHHS ORDERS.

  • Safe Return to Play: All TCAPS summer camps will follow MHSAA guidelines for safe return to play.
  • Face Coverings: Masks will be required indoors without exception. Per MHSAA guidelines, there is no medical waiver exempting any students. Should your son choose to play, s/he will be required to wear a mask at all times. Masks will be required outdoors for contact sports. Masks may be rmoved during active play for non-contact sports but must be worn at all other times.
  • Sanitization: Additional safety & sanitation measures will be in place.
  • Screening: Athletes must pass a daily screening & temperature check.

  • Who: Strength and Conditioning Camp is open to TCAPS incoming 4th-8th Grade Students & High School Students
  • Youth Camps (Grades 4-8): 
    • Tuesday & Thursdays beginning June 22.
    • Session Dates: June 22, 24, 29 & July 1, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 & 29 (Note: No Sessions the week of July 5 due to athletic dead period) 
    • Two sessions to choose from: 10:00 to 11:00 AM or  11:15 AM to 12:15 PM.
    • Cost: $110.00 - 10 Sessions Total. Discounted rates & scholarships are unavailable at this time. (Check in for each session begins 15 minutes prior to each session)
  • High School Camp (Grades 9-12):
    • Mondays & Fridays beginning June 21.
    • Session Dates: June 21, 25, 28, & July 2, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26 & 30 (Note: No Sessions the week of July 5 due to athletic dead period)
    • Session runs from: 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
    • Cost: $110.00 - 10 Sessions Total. Discounted rates & scholarships are unavailable at this time. (Check in for each session begins 15 minutes prior to each session)

  • Registration Deadline: Monday, June 21, 2021. Athletes must be pre-registered to attend sessions on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. 
  • Min/max: A minimum of 15 athletes must enroll for camp to run. For safety reasons, camp will be strictly capped at the first 60 athletes to register for each session.  No exceptions.

     

Payment is required at the time of registration. To register online using a Discover, MasterCard, Visa, or ACH via a checking or savings account please register below. Payment with cash or check can be made in the LEAP office located at Central High School, 1150 Milliken, Traverse City. The LEAP office is located near the Auditorium. Use the first parking lot on Milliken and enter through the first set of doors. Our office is the first office on the right.. Office hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. NOTE: Registration is not complete until your course appears in your dashboard. You will also receive an email from Eleyo confirming your registration. If you do not receive the confirmation email or see the course in your dashboard, be sure you have not left any course items in your shopping basket. If you need assistance please call the LEAP office (231.933.6570). If you did not receive an email from Eleyo or see your course in your dashboard, the payment did not process and the student is not registered.
