EMS Winter Sideline Cheerleading 

Calling all cheerleaders! We are excited to announce the return of sideline cheer at EMS and hope you will join us! Any interested athletes are welcome to attend practice after school in the cafeteria, starting Wednesday, November 6th, to see what EMS Cheer is all about. If we have enough inerest for a team, our hope is start cheering at boys' basketball games at the end of the month! A current commitment is only required through December.  

Cheerleading consists of many skills. Cheerleaders are required to lead the spirit and energy the crowd directs towards the basketball team. Studies show that players often perform better when they are given positive attention from the people in the stands who are there to support them. Join us in supporting our fellow Trojan athletes!

Season Start and End Dates:

Wednesday, November 6 - Wednesday, December 18th, 2024.

Basketball games are normally held Mondays & Wednesdays (game cheer dates to be decided by coach and conveyed to cheer team).

Practice & Game Schedules: 

Practices the first two weeks will be from 3-5 pm in the EMS Cafeteria.

3 STEP PROCESS TO REGISTER:

1) Eleyo Registration & Payment Details: 

Deadline: Friday, November 8th, 2024.

  • Registration deadlines are final. Late registrations may not be accepted after the posted registration close date.
  • If late registration is available, there will be a $25.00 late fee added to the cost of registration.
  • Register for your school below.
  • If your school is not listed, please select the Out of District option.
    • In an effort to be a good community partner, LEAP will accept students from non-participating schools when possible. Space is limited and enrollment may be capped for various offerings. For high demand activities TCAPS students will receive priority.

Participation Fee:

  • $140.00 for TCAPS students.
    • Reduced fees are unavailable for this offering. Scholarships may be avialable. Please call 933-7480 for additional information.
  • $178.00 for TCAPS shared-time students (TC Christian, GTACS, Trinity Lutheran, Children's House).
  • $199.00 for non-shared time students (Grand Traverse Academy, Greenspire, Homeschool, Pathfinder, Woodland).
  • Reduced Rates are not available for any Non-TCAPS students.

  • 2) FINAL FORMS:

    • ALL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER FOR A FINAL FORMS ACCOUNT IN ADDITION TO REGISTERING/PAYING
    • Please register at: https://traversecity-mi.finalforms.com and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students, and sign your forms.
    • If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Use Support,” or feel free to contact our office. 
    • NOTE: During parent registration, you will need to input your students’ TCAPS email address. It will be helpful to have that info available ahead of time in case you do not know it!
    • ONCE YOUR STUDENT IS REGISTERED, PLEASE ADD HIM/HER TO THE SPORTS S/HE PLANS TO PLAY THIS SCHOOL YEAR.


    3) Sports Physical:

    Middle School Athletes must have an updated physical on file each school year. Sports physicals must be dated April 15th, 2024 or later, & can be used for the entire '24-'25 school year. Your athlete MAY NOT attend practices/evaluations etc. until this is on file. Once obtained please feel free to screenshot and email directly to: lawrencebo@tcaps.net


    Admission Prices:

    Admission will be charged for home basketball games in which cheerleaders are considered athletes. In addition to those attending for basketball, spectators attending in support of our cheerleaders will also be charged admission.

    • General Admission - $3.00
    • Children 5 & Under - Free

    NOTE: Payment is required at the time of registration. You may register online using a Discover, MasterCard, Visa, or ACH (via a checking or savings account) please register below. Payment with cash or check can be made at the LEAP office located at: Traverse City East Middle School, 1776 Three Mile Road, Traverse City (call to make in person payment arrangements) School Year Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Please call the LEAP office at 231.933.7480 for more information. Registration is not complete until your course appears in your dashboard. You will also receive an email from Eleyo confirming your registration. If you did not receive an email from Eleyo or see your course in your dashboard, the payment did not process and the student is not registered.
