Tennis brings students together in teams to play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles against other teams. Middle school tennis is six weeks in length and will begin in April.

    Boys Tennis (Grades 6-8)

    About Middle School Boys Tennis LEAP middle school team tennis is open to all boys in grades 6-8. Team tennis brings students together in teams to play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles against other teams. The middle school tennis season is six weeks in length. Season Start Date: Monday, September 8th, 2025 Practice Schedules: East Middle School Mondays 5:30 - 7:00 pm @ Central High School Tennis Courts Wednesdays & Fridays 2:45 - 4:15 pm @ East Middle School Tennis Courts First Meeting: Wednesday, September 3rd 2:45 - 3:45 pm. Meet in Mr. Schafer's room after school. First practice: Monday September 8th 5:30-7:00 pm. Practice will always be outside, but on questionable days, please listen to announcements for any changes. Match Play: Starting 9/19/25 match play will be every Friday from 3:30- 5:00pm @ either East or West Middle School Tennis courts. Players will alternate sites each week. Match play runs for 5 weeks. Transportation is not available for away matches - carpooling works best! What to bring: Tennis racquet (if you have one) Tennis shoes and water bottle Dress appropriately for the weather (layers) Head Coach: Andrew Schafer Schaferan@tcaps.net West Middle School Monday, Wednesday & Fridays 2:45 - 4:15 pm @ West Middle School Tennis Courts First Meeting: TBA First practice: Monday, September 8th 2:45-4:15 pm. Exact Match Schedules: TBD 3 STEP ENROLLMENT PROCESS: 1) Eleyo Registration & Payment: TCAPS Middle School athletes now participate under the umbrella of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). The middle school teams under the MHSAA must be composed of students enrolled in TCAPS. MHSAA teams include Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, Wrestling, Softball, and Track & Field. In addition to MHSAA teams, LEAP also has non-MHSAA teams, including tennis. LEAP will accept students from non-TCAPS schools on our non-MHSAA teams whenever possible. All out-of-district individual students may register for tennis at EMS or WMS and should select either the TCAPS Shared-Time Registration Fee of Non - Shared Time Registration Fee at the time of check out. Deadline: Friday, August 1st, 2025 TCAPS Student Full Fee: $150.00 (Reduced fees are available to TCAPS students who qualify for the free and reduced meals program) Reduced Meals Participation Fee: $75.00 if registered by the deadline Free Meals Participation Fee: $50.00 if registered by the deadline TCAPS shared-time students: $190.00 TC Christian, Trinity Lutheran, GTACS, Children’s House Non-shared time students: $215.00 Grand Traverse Academy, Greenspire, Homeschool, Pathfinder, Woodland Reduced Rates are not available for any Non-TCAPS students. Registration deadlines are final. Late registrations may not be accepted after the posted registration close date. If late registration is available, there will be a $25.00 late fee added to the cost of registration. Payment is required at the time of registration. NOTE: Registration is not complete until your course appears in your dashboard. You will also receive an email from Eleyo confirming your registration. If you need assistance please call the LEAP office (231.933.7480). If you did not receive an email from Eleyo or see your course in your dashboard, the payment did not process and the student is not registered. 2) Final Forms: ALL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER FOR A FINAL FORMS ACCOUNT IN ADDITION TO REGISTERING/PAYING Please register at: https://traversecity-mi.finalforms.com and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students, and sign your forms. NOTE: During parent registration, you will need to input your students’ TCAPS email address. 3) Sports Physical: Middle School Athletes must have an updated physical on file each school year. Sports physicals must be dated April 15th, 2025 or later, & can be used for the entire '25-'26 school year. Athletes MAY NOT attend practices/evaluations etc. until this is on file.
