About Chess instruction organized and led by a comprehensive curriculum, which covers everything from learning the pieces and basic rules to advanced tactics and game study! Classroom priorities, in order, are: 1) Safety 2) FUN!!! 3) Learning chess. Instructor Amondeuz Graham has been playing chess since he was 6 years old, and has 12 years of experience as a chess instructor with over 20 years of experience tutoring. He is a TCAPS Montessori parent and loves teaching chess! Experience is not required, the class is designed to suit all skill levels from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Students are grouped together based on their skill, and will receive lessons, worksheets, and practice within their groups. We will also have activities that involve the entire class. Registration includes automatic acceptance into Online Chess Club. Session Start & End Dates Session 1: Tuesdays 3:15-4:30pm - January 30, 2024 to February 20, 2024 Session 2: Tuesdays 3:15-4:30pm - February 27, 2024 to March 19, 2024 Session 3: Tuesdays 3:15-4:30pm - April 30, 2024 to June 4, 2024 Classes take place in Room 130. You can email any additional questions to amondeuz1@gmail.com Participation Fee TCAPS Montessori Students: $72.00 per session Registration Deadline & Details Session 1 Deadline: January 26, 2024 Session 2 Deadline: February 23, 2024 Session 3 Deadline: April 28, 2024 Following the close of registration, you will be contacted via email regarding a more detailed schedule. In the event school is closed due to WEATHER, no LEAP activities will be held per TCAPS policy. There is no guarantee of a make-up date in the case of inclement weather. The online club will have puzzles, games, matches, tournaments, and more! Payment is required at the time of registration. You may register online using a Discover, MasterCard, Visa, or ACH (via a checking or savings account) please register below. NOTE: Registration is not complete until your course appears in your dashboard. You will also receive an email from Eleyo confirming your registration. If you do not receive the confirmation email or see the course in your dashboard, be sure you have not left any course items in your shopping basket. If you did not receive an email from Eleyo or see your course in your dashboard, the payment did not process and the student is not registered.
