About Middle School Cheerleading - Winter Season 

Cheerleading consists of many skills. Cheerleaders are required to lead the spirit and energy the crowd directs towards the basketball team. We know by studies that players often perform better when they are given positive attention from the people in the stands who are there to support them. 

Season Start and End Dates:

Monday, October 28 - Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Basketball games are normally held Mondays & Wednesdays (game cheer dates to be decided by coach and conveyed to cheer team).

Practice & Game Schedules: 

West Middle School Practices will be from 3 - 5 pm in the WMS Balcony (Monday-Thursday)

Coach Cruz will email you directly from Final Forms regarding the remainder of practices and games the team will be cheering at.

Admission Prices:

Admission will be charged for home contests.

East Middle School - We are currently in the process of hiring a cheer coach.  If your student is interested in cheering, please follow the directions below.  If a coach is hired, we will contact you with additional information regarding registering for the winter season!

• Go tot: https://traversecity-mi.finalforms.com and follow the prompts to create a Final Forms account, create your students, and sign your forms.
• During parent registration, you will need to input your students’ TCAPS email address. It will be helpful to have that info available ahead of time in case you do not know it!
• Once your student's account is created in Final Forms, please select 'Girls Cheerleading' under Fall Sports to be added to the group.  This will enable you and your student to receive further communication should we move forward with an EMS Cheer Team.

Three Step Enrollment Process

1) Registration & Payment Details: (Eleyo)

Deadline: Friday, October 11, 2024.

• Registration deadlines are final. Late registrations may not be accepted after the posted registration close date.
• If late registration is available, there will be a $25.00 late fee added to the cost of registration.
• Register for your school below.
• If your school is not listed, please select the Out of District option.
  • In an effort to be a good community partner, LEAP will accept students from non-participating schools when possible. Space is limited and enrollment may be capped for various offerings. For high demand activities TCAPS students will receive priority.

Participation Fee:

• $140.00 for TCAPS students.
  • Reduced fees are unavailable for this offering.

• ALL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER FOR A FINAL FORMS ACCOUNT IN ADDITION TO REGISTERING/PAYING
• Please register at: https://traversecity-mi.finalforms.com and follow the prompts to create your account, create your students, and sign your forms.
• If you require any support during the process, scroll to the page bottom and click “Use Support,” or feel free to contact our office. NOTE: During parent registration, you will need to input your students’ TCAPS email address. It will be helpful to have that info available ahead of time in case you do not know it!
• ONCE YOUR STUDENT IS REGISTERED, PLEASE ADD HIM/HER TO THE SPORTS S/HE PLANS TO PLAY THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

3) Sports Physicals:

Middle School Athletes must have an updated physical on file each school year. Sports physicals must be dated April 15th, 2024 or later, & can be used for the entire 2024 - '25 school year. Your athlete MAY NOT attend practices/evaluations etc. until this is on file. Once obtained please feel free to screenshot and email directly to lawrencebo@tcaps.net.

• Need a new physical? Download and print the TCAPS physical form here, and then please call your family physician to schedule a physical for your child. Email completed sports physicals to lawrencebo@tcaps.net.

NOTE: Payment is required at the time of registration. You may register online using a Discover, MasterCard, Visa, or ACH (via a checking or savings account) please register below. Payment with cash or check can be made at the LEAP office located at: Traverse City East Middle School, 1776 Three Mile Road, Traverse City (call to make in person payment arrangements) School Year Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Please call the LEAP office at 231.933.7480 for more information.  Registration is not complete until your course appears in your dashboard. You will also receive an email from Eleyo confirming your registration. If you do not receive the confirmation email or see the course in your dashboard, be sure you have not left any course items in your shopping basket. If you need assistance please call the LEAP office (231.933.7480). If you did not receive an email from Eleyo or see your course in your dashboard, the payment did not process and the student is not registered.
