TCAPS Learning, Enrichment, Activities & Performance Program

Who: TCAPS West Middle School (WMS) students (Grades 6-8)

What: Kick off the school year and join us for some outdoors FUN this fall! We’re planning 6 weeks of activities after school on Thursdays, alternating between exploring nature near WMS and field trips to special places in Traverse City. In the past we’ve explored The Commons trails, Elev8 climbing center, Fairy Trails, The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park, Kids Creek, Buffalo Ridge Trail, Cherry Republic, and more. We will have some NEW adventures this fall, and our culminating event will be a field trip to Jacob’s Farm Corn Maze the week before Halloween!

Where: Students will meet immediately after school in the WMS Library, and the Club will start @ 2:45. Parent pick-up @ 4:30 will vary between WMS and other locations, as shown below, although they are subject to change based on weather. We will email reminders (and any changes) to students and parents every week.

• Thurs., Sept. 24 - 4:30 Parent pick-up @ WMS main entrance
• Thurs., Oct. 1 - 4:30 Parent pick-up @ 1101 Red Drive, TC - the parking lot near the Greenspire School and Northwest Education Services
• Thurs., Oct. 8 - 4:30 Parent pick-up @ Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, 2846 3 Mile Rd North, TC
• Thurs., Oct. 15 - 4:30 Parent pick-up @ WMS main entrance
• Thurs., Oct. 22 - 4:30 Parent pick-up @ Jacob’s Farm, 7100 E. Traverse Highway, TC
(Note: Thurs., Oct. 29, could be a make-up date if there are weather cancellations on other days.)

Cost: $25.00 per student.
